Carve Out Your Soul
Albion, Michigan
One of the great parts about my day job is working with talented students on fun projects, like our recently-launched Albion 1995 throwback video.
The idea? What Albion College was like in 1995, told through music and technology.
The team did an amazing job starring in this thing, grabbing vintage (”vintage” – oy, I remember 1995!) clothing, and being good sports. For my part, it was all shot on an iPhone 5S, often using the VHS Camcorder app for the ‘95 scenes.
Check out the full video.
Pretty proud of how this (and the previous video) turned out: Albion College faculty read mean comments from Rate My Professor.
Appreciate all the faculty who (a) had a good sense of humor and (b) were willing to participate.
Autumn means football, and here at school it means flag powderpuff football. I stopped by one of the practice sessions with the Delta Gamma sorority trying out their pitch-and-catch.
The guy at the end? He was going to make a tackle but biffed it on the turf. So it goes.
Neon Hitch and Mike Posner, performing at Albion College’s annual Big Show concert.
One of my favorite projects to shoot all year.
The now-famous Franck–Hertz experiment elegantly supported Niels Bohr’s model of the atom, with electrons orbiting the nucleus with specific, discrete energies. Franck and Hertz were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1925 for this work.
Our college science complex has some amazing stuff, and I always look for esoteric items to photograph.
This was a good one for my 7,777 photo posted to Flickr.
